A post not very me, but I thought I'd slap out my collection of photos of funky nails I've done in the past year. Mixed emotions looking back, because I currently have no nails. Not totally nothing at all, but I do bite them, and it's a habit I hate. Quite frankly it's disgusting, but what with boredom and stress, it just becomes second nature. Anyway, if you do have nails, here's some things I've done to spice them up in the past...

White polish, with dried pressed rose petals, red dots and a clear varnish over the top.

 My most recent nails- clear and coloured with funny little pictures of things, and little flowers.

 Gather up some sequins- flatter smaller ones are best, stick them down onto a thicker coat of varnish..

 Here I also added pressed eyeshadow, which got everywhere at the time and looked much nicer the next day....

 Pale pink varnish with a dusting of glitter- the easiest thing to do. These were my Christmas time nails...

 And my personal favourite, a white varnish with little doodles on the top.

Also if you want nail ideas the best thing to do is put "..........insert what you like.......... nail art" into Google.

You are not a beautiful or unique snowflake.

I have been away from Blogger lately, and I am sorry for that. What happened was I clicked that I wanted the new layout, and then found it made me sad. I have also been doing some college work. I got that done, and now I feel a bit better about the layout, and a lot better about college. This is going to be an annoyingly me me me post about what I did when I was away.

 

 I made a facebook cover (isn't that layout also a bit annoying) of all my favourite people, then realised just how many people I left off. (Patti Smith, I'm sorry).

Wore a Hole top to college and was laughed at because people thought it said "Hoe". They laughed more when I said that "ACTUALLY, it says HOLE"

Posed infront of my mirror. I got a new shirt with art by Saskia Pomeroy on it.

Watched all the lambs get lost around the hills, and the cute little moments when they're reunited with their mums.

Posed again infront of my mirror, in a velvet floral dress from the 70s- it felt like I was in an aquarium looking back at this, and now I'm planning to go to one in summer.

Found and arranged everything I own that is pink on my bed (not much).

 

Dip dyed the end of my hair pink.

Started watching more foreign films. Une Femme est une femme was rewatched...

Stravinsky (Daisies) was also watched, and it's brilliant. One of the best. Then from this I applied to do an extended project on foreign, silent and old new wave films- studying and making my own. I don't know if I should be regretting this or not. (I am USELESS with technology, and there's no way I can recreate something I love to a high standard).

Looked at little me on video and thought "WHAT WENT WRONG" a lot.

Dried a lot of teabags in my window for a project.

Looked at how the dipdye suited a do with all my hair on one side. mm streaky.

Spotted the cutest little stoat in the garden, which posed for a photo!

Started work on a zine purely dedicated to Cecelia from The Virgin Suicides.

Watched  a documentry on the 70s and found myself kissing and stroking the tv.

Had a teaparty with myself- crisps, irn bru and Joanna Newsom.

Did lots of graphics, in particular working on how cassette tapes have just been abandoned, the above image is from an animation where the casette is thrown away and then all the tape climbs back out of the bin and kills the person who chucked it.

Listened to lots and lots and lots of Kate Bush.

Fell in love with Fight Club.

Found some funny pictures of Victorian times on the beach. (My relations were adorable)

And saw how a red fringe type thing made me look a bit like La Roux. Oh dear. I will try and return to normal posting now (whatever that is).

What have you been doing in your spare time recently?

Coloured pens, old photos, sequins and a craft knife.

No I can't bring myself to get motivation to start any college work but all of a sudden I have started doing a lot more art for myself, just random bits and pieces, and this is all I've done lately.. (in the last week or so).

Okay, art spam over, sorry for the small sizing, it really sucks having used up all my 200 flickr uploads. Anyone out there want to give me a pro account? hint hint. Only joking. I hope everyone is having a nice holiday, I am, dressing up as an Indian Princess and returning to Year 8 when I used to meditate- it's so much fun, burn some candles and incense and just relax.

(The Indian dress up is optional but makes it so much more fun)

P.s if anyone wants to contribute anything to my zine I could absolutely love it, I'm in particular looking for a piece on feminism, but I'm up for any kind of donations.
