I'M TRYING TO BE COLOURFUL

Happy Easter holidays, again, but at last it's so much fun to actually have some time away from college, to do collegework (ha ha ha) and just be generally a bit creative. I'm not the most colourful of people in the way I dress, I adore colourful and odd clothes but I have no confidence whatsoever when it comes to actually wearing them myself, so I do use the holidays to wear what I want more, because my family don't really care.

The outfit is made up of things I found at my Nan's house, a later post will follow this up because everytime I go there I find different bits and bobs..

Like below, a book on the Royal family.. I hate Royalty (with the exception of Princess Diana) (rip) but it's such a cute little thing full of really amazing photos that if I can bring myself to cut up, will make great collages.

I've also started turning some of my boring tshirts into brighter ones for Summer, the stuff in high street shops is often foul and always overpriced, so this is a secondary p.e shirt, with the sleeves cut off, just coloured in..

Latest purchases:

BLONDIE POSTER- ORIGINAL FROM 1980!!

Also a Blondie tape..

More tapes, ugh addict, especially at prices around 25-50p

More Kate Bush, lovely lovely vinyl...

And it came with all these articles, thankyou whoever donated it to Oxfam.

Blablabla what else has been happening?

I'm addicted to trying to do the most perfect plaits..

I've done some letter writing (more like jazzing up envelopes and making everything look cute, but the letter having no real content)

Finding silly feminist scribbles in my journal (sigh college boredom)

Finding some great coloured shorts and wondering if they would be socially acceptable to be worn outside:

a) I look like a clown

b) they're quite short

c) they're actually part of a 60s bathing costume..

Falling out with people over silly things (oops)

And still finding ways to cover up my two black eyes, I liked the sequin option until my Dad asked me if I'd had an "eye vajazzle" oh dear.

  2. Caitlin, first off I just read your reply to my comment and I was so touched - thank you. It's so refreshing to hear that people ACTUALLY READ their comments and appreciate them; I know whenever I see the little (1) notification on my Wordpress dashboard which means someone's commented on my blog my heart flutters and I scramble to lap up their feedback and kind words.

There is so much in this post that is painfully close to my heart Caitlin! Wearing bright floral clothes and not giving a damn cause it's the holidays - yesterday I experiemtned with a clash of mustard yellow chinos and a turquoise knit batwing jumper topped off with a turquoise and yellow headscarf with a massive map of Australia printed on it. Then I messed around with my two new barry m eyeliners (God bless that brand) and did bright blue on my lids with little flicks and under my eye I did gold and flicked it out the opposite way. I was going for a Greek Goddess meets Avatar look but I'm not sure if anyone else was feeling it! I am a fellow Blondie fan - until my room was recently redecorated and I was forced to kiss goodbye to all my posters (boo hoo) and awoke every morning to a massive photo of Debbie Harry's face. I've got the cds but not any tapes *makes note to have a proper look in Cancer Research tomorrow* but I do love my tapes and am always shocked at how few people still own a cassette player! Don't know what I'd do without mine and I happily admit that when I am ever feeling particularly stressed or unhappy for whatever reason, curling up in bed listening to the comforting voice of Stephen Fry reading Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire (£1.99 on tape in my local Oxfam) can soothe me more than anything. I want your wall because it is amazing and is clearly something which has being painstakingly added to over time. The rainbow shorts are brilliant - wear them with converse and a t shirt tied in a front knot like a crop top, a straw hat and some sunnies. Perfect 80s Fame extra off duty look. I am now aware that this is a ridiculously long comment (the best kind in my opinion!) so before I sign off, so sorry to hear your Boom co-editor resigned, at least now you have full editorial power and can make it exactly what you want it to be, and lastly I personally like the eye make-up, whatever your dad says ;-p xxx

  3. To vocer up the black spots under your eyes, try the Meadham Kerchoff drawn on eyelashes? Also, I like those rainbow shorts and I think they'd look cute with a sweater. :)

  8. Your hair is the sole reason I am growing mine out.
I am going to try the sequins. Only you could make a black eye look so cool. I had a black eye once, after I dreamt George Harrison was in my room and leapt up so fast I smashed my head into the bed post.
