He'd chosen heavens as the backdrop for his latest collection and it took builders five days to construct the Air Chanel plane which looks really cute and quaint with the clothing making references to 60's airline workers and strongly using one of my favourite colours-blue, the colour of sky aww airline- I get it!!

The theme was also reflected in the (what are apparently) signature Chanel skirt-suits given a retro air hostess makeover with wide, bateau collars and a duck-egg blue palette which I stole for some extra twists with my collages.

For me, the hair and makeup were just as brilliant as the clothing...

i love what you've done with the images, great post!

Thanks dear xx
Deleteawwww cute
ReplyDeleteand juergen is pretty amazing :o
ReplyDeleteHe is, and I wouldn't like Marc Jacobs as much if the adverts weren't so unique. The recent ones with Helena Bonham Carter were amazing!!
DeleteDid you watch the BBC series 'Pan Am' about 60s air hostesses? If you liked the chanel collection you will LOVE this program! I also love what you did to the pictures...
ReplyDeleteoh, and did you notice the tights? they are awesome :)
I didn't, but it mentioned that show in the article!! Thanks for following, and yes I did notice the tights and they're the best things ever- I can't believe I forgot to mention them, I need a pair!!
DeleteI thought Pan Am was an American show? Or is there a British one as well? The US one's got Christina Ricci and she's absolutely gorgeous in it! That show is amazing, fashion inspiration wise. (but the plot's not that great haha)
DeleteI'll have to look it up then, I've only just heard of it- oops!!
DeleteI love chanel and its crazy antics! fashion in the clouds, wow great post~
ReplyDeleteIt's such a cute idea isn't it?
DeleteI love this, and I like the extra twists! QUIRKY and AWESOME! You know who else wears blue sort of flight attendant style clothing, the chicks in The Fifth Element.

Me too, the models are all perfectly picked as well!
ReplyDeleteYou always inspire me to be more creative Caitlin! Your little multimedia pieces are so fun - the one with the swirls is def my favourite. I actually really liked the whole theme for this Chanel collection, as I'm not always a fan of Largerfeld's work. It was nicely thought out. Do you know Rodarte? I think you'd like their clothes (whole last collection was inspired by Van Gogh) - ooh, and Charlotte Taylor has amazing, quirky prints (like elephants and red ants and things). Just some suggestions!
ReplyDeleteYes!!! I have some photos of the Van Gogh dresses on my wall, they were perfect! Thankyou Roz xxx
