About Me

My Photo
I like to pretend I'm in a movie, dress up late at night, roll down hills and make zines.

“Remember, remember, this is now, and now, and now. Live it, feel it, cling to it. I want to become acutely aware of all I’ve taken for granted.”

The things I've done since I last posted... or not, I have no sense of time, but I'm trying to become more aware of the things I do, how lucky I am and just how important things are in life.
“Remember, remember, this is now, and now, and now. Live it, feel it, cling to it. I want to become acutely aware of all I’ve taken for granted.”- Sylvia Plath.. So.. actually looking back over my past week I have been productive, so sorry if this post bores you. This week I bought some glitter balls- reduced in a Christmas sale, but hm I wouldn't say they are Christmassy, so I'm keeping them up all year round. A super cool tape of 60s songs- 25p..And a Blondie "Call Me" single... (on the wall behind me in my next photo)..
I also bought a brilliant original vinyl of Phantom Of The Opera which looks ever so pretty.I tried to make the tackiest crown thing I could in the middle of the week, and it has lots of very silly things on it. I'm not sure what I'd be queen of.I was sent a little bracelet made from paper stars by my friend Carys, which never comes off except for bath time... Isn't it cute?

As a New Years resolution I am trying to read more and I made a start on Trainspotting which I've had for months now.. I also took EIGHT books out of college to read. I CAN DO THIS.Watching wise I've seen Ghost World, which I have to say has shot almost straight to the top in my list of best films. It's fantastic, if you haven't seen it you really should, characters like Enid and Seymour are UNMISSABLE.

This week also saw me wave a goodbye to the Christmas tree..ugh, heartbreaking.
I had a bit of a breakdown in college when I lost my phone (someone lovely handed it in though) scariest night ever... my phone is my life not in the fact that I have lots of friends, I just like to document my whole life on it with texts to myself (how sad).
I learnt to plait my own hair- FINALLY. All that practise on Betty Spaghetti's as a child has payed off at last!! (yes I know they're really wonky still.) I lit (practically) every candle I own in honour of David Bowie and had a night of grooving to his songs. This is my friend Katy, and I... we had to go back to our secondary school to get our gcses, I NOW OFFICIALLY HAVE PASSED IN 10 SUBJECTS. I also won awards in community care and art :3 awkward.
So I'm pleased with that, however tomorrow I get my maths gcse retake result which I'm dreading.
I launched my Zine, BOOM that I do with a friend, Emma. There will be a post about this later- I promise. (I'm still on the stress come down from printing it)
I've realised just how obsessed I've become with my typewriter, copying up Sylvia Plath's Ariel, night by night. My Mum gave me old photographs, and old records. Both are just so stunning. I really love the look of everything from the past. It all seems so well thought out and the colours are more subtle and sweet. I saw how pretty the moon looks through the viewfinder of a camera- with my new one I can now properly capture it!!And I saw how silly I can look.*sigh*

Ok I'm off to venture into town on my own, in a mission of finding a Sonic Youth cd...
What have you done this week??

  5. I love how stream of consciousness your blog is! COngrats on the GCSEs & the zine launch. We must swap ASAP. I love how when you read Irvine Welsh you start talking in a Scottish accent in your head. & that crown in amazing. I think you should wear it always.

    1. Aw yes we should, I think I should send you issue 2 though, this one's just a bit of a mess!! YES. I really struggled to read it at first but when I do it aloud with an accent I'm fine. I'd love to wear that crown more, but college already hates me enough!! Thanks for the comment.
