I'd love to know the moment in history when people decided Halloween should be turned into what I can only describe as a "slut and tat fest", all the shops are decked with vibrant displays and people parade round as underdressed versions of their chosen character.

·Gone round all the cheap shops and managed to find 29p glow in the dark face paint (which won't even be used for Halloween purposes), and some fun sweets.

And now I plan to spend the evening dreaming of séances and candlelit viduals but instead I think I'll dress up as Phantom of the Opera and read his story and watch his film..
